CONVERSION

7 reasons your website isn't generating leads — and the fix for each

You're getting traffic, but the phone isn't ringing. Here's the 7-point audit we run on every client site, and the specific fix that moves conversion from 0.5% to 3%+.

"I get 400-500 visitors a month and zero calls." This is the #1 message that lands in our inbox. Almost every time, the diagnosis lives in the same 7 places. Here is the audit we run, in order.

1. There is no single, obvious primary CTA above the fold

A visitor decides in 4-5 seconds whether to act. If they see six buttons (Get a quote, Book a call, Download brochure, Learn more, Watch video, Subscribe), they pick none. Pick ONE primary action. Make it large, accent-colored, and impossible to miss. Everything else is secondary.

2. The form asks for too much, too soon

Every additional form field drops submissions by ~10%. A 7-field form (name, phone, email, company, role, budget, project type) loses 60-70% of intent. Start with 2 fields — name + phone. Enrich the rest after they reply on WhatsApp.

3. Zero trust signals

No real client names, no real photos, no specific outcome numbers. Just "we deliver excellence" copy. Visitors don't trust strangers — they trust evidence. Add 3 case studies with real names + real numbers ("₹14L revenue in 90 days for client X"). Indian buyers care about specificity 10x more than design polish.

4. Mobile experience is broken

80%+ of Indian traffic is mobile. If your site takes 4+ seconds to render, has tiny tap targets, or breaks the form on iOS Safari, you lost the lead before they read a word. Open the site on your phone in incognito on 4G — not your office WiFi. That's what users see.

5. WhatsApp is buried or missing entirely

Indian customers will WhatsApp you 8x more often than they'll email or call. If there's no floating WhatsApp button, no WhatsApp link in the form thank-you, no WhatsApp deep-link in the footer — you're dropping leads who would have converted on the channel they actually prefer.

6. Page is slow (Lighthouse score under 80)

Every 1 second of load delay drops conversion ~7%. Most "designed" Indian sites score 30-50 on mobile because they ship 4MB of unoptimized images and 1.5MB of JavaScript. Real number to hit: <2.5s LCP, <100ms INP. Run pagespeed.web.dev on your homepage right now.

7. Copy is feature-led, not outcome-led

"We provide custom web development services using modern frameworks" is feature copy. "We ship websites that have generated ₹3.2 crore for our clients in 18 months" is outcome copy. Visitors don't care what stack you use. They care what they get.

How to run this audit yourself in 30 minutes

  • Open your homepage in incognito on your phone, on 4G, not WiFi.
  • Count primary CTAs above the fold. If more than one, that's the issue.
  • Open the lead form. Count fields. More than 3? Cut.
  • Search Ctrl+F for "WhatsApp" on every page. If zero results, that's the issue.
  • Run pagespeed.web.dev on homepage. Mobile score under 80? Speed is the issue.
  • Read your hero copy out loud. Does it say what the customer GETS, or what you DO?

Most sites we audit have 4-5 of these 7 issues at once. Fixing them is rarely a redesign — it's usually 2-3 days of focused work that can 4-6x conversion.
